The Lyons Farmette is a beautiful venue just north of Boulder, Colorado. It features nearly 1 acre of space that grows vegetables and flowers, as well a gorgeous open lawn shaded by huge deciduous trees. This shaded area is a photographer’s dream—as it allows for soft even lighting punctuated by light beams filtered through tree leaves. Those who decide to get married at The Lyons Farmette can decorate their wedding with the organic flowers grown right on the property! The farmette also boasts a variety of beautiful animals, including alpacas, goats, hens, and llama. The creators of this gorgeous space, Betsy and Mike, value community relationships and locally grown food and built this space to bring people together. They host anything from farm dinners to weddings, and I was fortunate enough to photograph Annie and Trevor’s wedding at this venue.
Trevor and his groomsmen drank from this incredible Laphoraic brand malt scotch whiskey.

First Look and Portraits
Annie and Trevor did their first look in The Lyons Farmette’s flower garden. Annie’s bouquet and Trevor’s boutonniere are made of flowers that workers grew and picked at their wedding venue.
They had a magical first look.

Wedding Party Portraits – The Lyons Farmette
Wedding party portraits are a fun time to photograph details, such as close-up images of florals or delicate features on a dress or suit. Annie had pretty buttons on her gown that I had to photograph!

Details – The Lyons Farmette
A + T put a lot of work into making their wedding beautiful. Their details were truly stunning and a joy to photograph! Their hard work coupled with The Lyons Farmette’s shaded lighting made for some lovely detail shots. I love how colorful recent weddings have been!

Signing Marriage License

Pre-Ceremony
There is a palpable feeling of anticipation, excitement, and joy in the moments prior to the ceremony. Guests make their way to their seats, old friends catch up after being apart for too long, and eventually, an electrified silence only broken by murmurs falls over the crowd. This portion of the day is brief, but should not be looked over. Your guests are so happy for you and can’t wait to watch you get married.
