Getting Ready Portraits – Chika
Chika and her half of the wedding party prepared for the day in one of the gorgeous Lakeside suites at The Broadmoor. I was so honored and thrilled to witness her friends shower her with love throughout her day.
Getting Ready – Akonam
Akonam began his day surrounded by those he loves the most. His wedding attire included a gorgeous watch, beautiful cufflinks, and a personal monogrammed button-up top.
Chika + Akonam – Details
Chika and Akonam’s details were nothing short of perfection. From their custom floral arch to their initials C & A on the dance floor, their day was the picture of thoughtful planning. Their wedding day was filled with personal touches that made it feel authentically them.
Chika + Akonam – Ceremony
Chika and Akonam’s families flew in from Texas to witness their wedding at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Broadmoor is a beautiful wedding venue that balances sophistication and mountain beauty with the convenience of being in town and less than 20 minutes away from the Colorado Springs airport.
Their ceremony was absolutely breathtaking and beautifully emotional. There was not one dry eye as Chika’s brother walked her down the aisle to meet her husband Akonam. Their wedding ceremony ended with Akonam and Chika exiting arm and arm with the biggest smiles on their faces.
Chika + Akonam – Couple’s Portraits
We only had about 10 minutes to take Akonam and Chika’s portraits, but we made some beautiful images together. In the background of some of these images, one can vaguely see the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, which is an iconic and historic Colorado Springs monument.
Chika + Akonam – Wedding Reception
These two had a lively party following their ceremony! Their reception began with a grand entrance for each side of the family followed by Chika + Akonam’s grand entrance. They had a beautiful first dance complete with sparklers. I can’t get over the photo of Chika’s face as she watches the sparklers! After their first dance as a married couple, Chika danced with her brother, Akonam danced with his mother, and then everyone enjoyed toasts given by esteemed members of the wedding party. Chika and members from her college sorority performed a dance, and then Chika and Akonam cut into their gorgeous wedding cake.
Before the bouquet toss, Chika and Aknoam’s sides of the wedding party competed in an incredible dance-off. Finally, Chika changed into her reception dress, a stunning Matopedá Atelier piece.
This stunning wedding day would not have been possible without all of these incredible vendors. Thank you to everyone who made Chika and Akonam’s day beautiful!
